It seems any list for improving health and well being includes meditation. That is one of the reasons that the Joyful Mind Zen Sangha offers two weekly opportunities for anyone to meditate with a group aside from our regular Saturday morning Soto Zen service. These opportunities are Tuesday nights from 6:30-7:30 and Friday mornings from 6:00-7:00, both meeting in the Anthony Room. These sessions are great opportunities to meditate with others. Participants of any form of silent meditation are welcome; these are not restricted to those inclined toward Buddhism. If you are new to meditation, please arrive 15-20 minutes early, so you can be shown how easy it is to get started. Each session follows this format: 20 minutes of seated meditation followed by 10 minutes of walking meditation and concluded with 20 minutes of seated meditation after which we return the Anthony Room to the way it was when we arrived. We provide chairs and cushions, but participants can bring their own. We meet every week, but cancel in the winter if roads are hazardous.
