Reflection by Cindy Darling
Sermon by Rev. Sydney Morris
This month we are exploring the “Five Smooth Stones of Religious Liberalism” as articulated by the 20th century UU theologian, James Luther Adams. Join us for this, the first of the five — “Revelation is continuous.” Our gray hymnal is titled, “Singing the Living Tradition,” what does it mean to be a part of a “living” tradition? How do we keep it alive?

Rev. Dr. Sydney Amara Morris was raised in the Unitarian Universalist First Church of Chicago. After working in social services, counseling and organizing, she received her ministerial education at Harvard Divinity and Meadville Lombard Theological schools.

She has served UU congregations since 1981 and has been a hospice chaplain. Sydney has two grown sons and two granddaughters who are 4 and 6 years old. She enjoys her cockerpoodle, hiking, canoeing, and reading.
