Religious Exploration News
What’s going on in RE?
Our Summer 2026 RE Program is here! Remember, starting Sunday 5/24, we only have the one service at 10:00AM for the summer. Religious Exploration still happens during the service.
If you’d like to find out, come join us! We’ll explore how bees and butterflies find the water they need, why these important pollinators matter, and what we can do to help them thrive. This covers the Web of Life, Interdependence, Helping Others (animals), Science, and Creativity.
See you on Sunday!
All Ages
There will be no Religious Exploration this Sunday. The nursery will still be open for children ages 6 months to 4 years. “Fun & Friends” does not meet in the summer.
As a reminder for those kids who attended RE last Sunday, May 31, Ms. Jill is putting the finishing touches on your flower fabric art pieces and will be installing the display in the RE Wing next week. You all did a fabulous job! The pieces look wonderful.
All Ages
We reexamined the UU Value of Transformation (and patience) while we used our fabric and our hammers to transfer the flower’s “ink” (yes, that’s what the “juices” coming off of the petals and leaves are called) from the petals and leaves to the fabric. Once it dries, Ms. Jill will be framing the squares which will then hang in the RE hallway for a few weeks. The kids will be able to show off their artwork and look at others’ artwork until we take down the installation to hang a future project.
All Ages
Our 4k-1st graders, 2nd-5th Graders, and Crossing Paths students were in the Fellowship Hall celebrating the end of the year. Students got to make “dirt and worm” desserts as well as work on a special project for their teachers!

4k-1st
Our 4k-1st graders used their imagination while reading the “Where the Wild Things Are” They participated in making a project to grow in the garden.
2nd-5th
Our 2nd-5th graders learned about their brain functioning in relation to imagination. They used their brains to guess what type of ball was on the screen based on a magnified picture.
Crossing Paths

Our Crossing Paths students had the opportunity to visit the Christ the Rock Church in Menasha to experience attending a Megachurch.
4k-1st
Ms. Kate shared the classic story of Zhuangzi’s Butterfly Dream, inviting children into a world where imagination and identity intertwine. Afterward, they took part in a creative activity, making cootie catchers, that encouraged them to become storytellers themselves, dreaming up who or what they might transform into and bringing those ideas to life.
2nd-5th
Using imagination as their guide, our 2nd-5th graders collaborate with Ms. Jen to create a shared class story, complete with their own illustrations. Be sure to check out their finished masterpiece on display in the RE Hallway!
Crossing Paths
This Sunday, the Crossing Paths teens had a guest join their class. Barb Hoffman, a Quaker, and a member of the Fellowship, shared her experiences and practices as a Quaker.
