Religious Exploration News
What’s going on in RE?
Our Summer 2026 RE Program is here! Remember, starting Sunday 5/24, we only have the one service at 10:00AM for the summer. Religious Exploration still happens during the service.
All Ages
Beth & Ralph will join us with their therapy dogs to teach us what therapy dogs do, how they are trained, where they live, and many other tidbits.
If your child is allergic to dogs or has any difficulties being around dogs, feel free to pass on this Sunday. We don’t want your child to feel uncomfortable.
We can’t wait to see you there! Join us, won’t you?

This Sunday, Mr. Seth led a lesson on American Sign Language. In this lesson, our friends discussed how people communicate in different ways and how we can be more accessible to those who have different needs. Additionally, we learned some simple words/phrases in ASL to be used at home!

This Sunday, Reanne from JR Aquatics was here exhibiting their friendly critters of many sizes and shapes. All of our friends had lots of fun learning about these critters!
“JR Aquatics provides an immersive and interactive adventure featuring captivating encounters with a variety of animals, including lizards and snakes.”

We explored how bees and butterflies find the water they need, why these important pollinators matter, and what we can do to help them thrive. This covers the Web of Life, Interdependence, Helping Others (animals), Science, and Creativity.

There was no Religious Exploration this Sunday. The nursery was still open for children ages 6 months to 4 years. “Fun & Friends” does not meet in the summer.
As a reminder for those kids who attended RE last Sunday, May 31, Ms. Jill is putting the finishing touches on your flower fabric art pieces and will be installing the display in the RE Wing next week. You all did a fabulous job! The pieces look wonderful.

We reexamined the UU Value of Transformation (and patience) while we used our fabric and our hammers to transfer the flower’s “ink” (yes, that’s what the “juices” coming off of the petals and leaves are called) from the petals and leaves to the fabric. Once it dries, Ms. Jill will be framing the squares which will then hang in the RE hallway for a few weeks. The kids will be able to show off their artwork and look at others’ artwork until we take down the installation to hang a future project.
