What is Middle Hour?
Middle Hour is the time between our 9:00 am and 11:00 am Sunday services (from 10:00-10:50 am) during our program year between approximately September through May.
The goal of Middle Hour is to provide time for everyone to have opportunities for learning, connection, and fun. Kids have their age-segmented classes, and there are offerings for adults as well. It’s our “All-Fellowship RE (Religious Exploration)” time!

For adults —
- UU Connection Path- This new program will be a recurring series of 6-8 sessions focused on Unitarian Universalism and our Fellowship, to help newcomers get acquainted and anyone else who wants to deepen their connection to our community and our faith tradition. This offering will typically be in the Legacy Room.
- Pluralism Practice- Our beloved world religions program for middle-school youth now welcomes adults! Most sessions will be adults & youth together, some will be separate, and some will be youth-only. Check the schedule for details. Our focus in this program is not “college level religion 101” but rather a chance to explore our own beliefs and identity as we understand our neighbor’s faiths and practice our Shared UU Value of Pluralism.
- As we embark on this experiment in multigenerational learning and connection, we will ask that adults sign this agreement when they first attend Pluralism Practice. This offering will typically be in the Brown Room (or when adults and youth are separate, in the David Room).
- Other Adult Offerings – Any other offering that arises will be typically scheduled in the Fellowship Hall. These types of offerings include presentations by committees and teams, ways to engage in justice-making, spiritual or creative practices, discussions about theological or ethical issues, and more.
- The Mingle Spot – Since the Fellowship Hall will be occupied with adult Middle Hour offerings many Sundays, the round tables in the entry lobby are designated for folks who just want to sit, stand, enjoy coffee and conversation, and mingle rather than attend a Middle Hour offering.

What’s Coming Up In Middle Hour?
Middle Hour returns on September 20, 2026. The opportunities for connection, learning and fun for all ages is from 10:00 to 10:50 AM. There is no Middle Hour on Sundays with a single service or on Sundays with an All Ages Service.
Parents– Whether you bring your children to the 9 AM Coffeehouse Service and stay after for Middle Hour, or if you arrive around 10 AM for Middle Hour first — be sure to sign them in at the “RE Launchpad” located in the lobby between the Sanctuary and the Fellowship Hall. Kids ages 4-10 will wait there for their teacher to come get them. Middle School youth can go on their own to the Brown Room. Adults can choose their Middle Hour offering or sit at the Mingle Spot.
Music — In an effort to include as many people in our music ministries, many of the rehearsals take place on Sunday mornings! To give our musicians ample time for stress-free rehearsal and still allow time for service participants to do sound-check, these rehearsals will typically be from 9:30 – 10:30 AM in the Sanctuary.
